A.M. Davis Elementary yearbooks are created and printed through TreeRing, a web-based yearbook company that plants a tree for each yearbook purchased. To date, we've had 632 trees planted! So how does the yearbook editing process work?
Our PTA is responsible for 100% of the yearbook creation, editing, and distribution each year! After Picture Day in the fall, a digital copy of all portraits is given to the PTA. We then organize the portraits and ensure that names are spelled correctly. A list of all students without portraits is created, and if those students aren't able to attend make-up day in the spring, their parent just might receive a "Request for Photo" email. It's important to us that each child is included! Parents and teachers can also help gather content by sending in photos taken throughout the year on field trips, in the classroom, during after-school events, etc. Once we finish organizing the content, we designate the book as "Print Ready," and off the orders go to the printer!
Our "Print Ready" deadline follows closely behind your puchase deadline- both are usually sometime in May. All purchases made prior to this deadline will be shipped to the school for free, sorted, and sent home with your child- usually early June. For the virtual kids this year, we'll hold one or two disbribution events in June. If you miss the purchase deadline for any reason, you'll still be able to purchase a yearbook, but you will incur a $5 shipping charge for the book to be shipped directly to your home.
